But unlike today where a movie stays in a theater at least a week, back then, ‘‘the movie changed every two days,” he said. In 1988, the Plaza caught fire and the whole row of structures was torn down for redevelopment. The Lexington Park Post Office sits on part of the land today.”

- St. Mary’s used to have more movie houses - I wonder how many towns have a similar tale to tell about the little theaters they had before the multiplexes came. I remember the Plaza fondly from my childhood.
